how do I make light emitting surfaces? (desk-lamp)

Hello mates,

I have some nice results rendering objects without light. But how can I add light sources directly emitted by the objects? I did this on cinema4D already but does it work in Brazil as well? I am also wondering where to find the option for glow. Thank you for any help :)

well I found the tutorial "Three methods for interior lighting with Brazil for Rhino". It is said that if I write "SelLight" in the console a window pops up for further options but nothing pops up! I found the option window anyway but it has the field "type" missing.

I can create only a spotlight and can't find different lights like the rectangular light. How can I create a light out of a custom shape object?

You can apply the "Brightness" material to the object and turn on GI in the Luma Server to self illuminate the object. Glow is a "Post Effect". Activate the Post Effect panel from the View menu in the Render Window. Double click an effect to open the effect dialog.

The "Light" properties only show if you have the properties panel open.  This is a little bit different on Rhino 5 to what you see in the video.  The properties panel is now a "tab", and the "Light" selection that you see done using a combo box (Object/Light) is now a series of icons along the top of the panel.  Once you select the "Light" button, everything should basically be the same - including "Type"
