Neon *is* real time Brazil. It will get better, and better, but that's the way you should see it.

Animation - use Bongo. Bongo 2.0 is free at the moment!

i understand that neon ist extentioned brazil, but as u said, there are still long way to go.

of cause we shouldnt expect everything togather, but there are really some commercial renderer who can do it all in one.

lets see what next coming.

Hi Frank,

The work McNeel are doing on animation is all in Bongo, it's not going to be in Brazil V3. They really are separate things, there are programs that do animation and rendering, but any such software that's actually popular has third parties offering different rendering options.

Jim

Just out of interest, in which areas do you think there is a long way to go with Neon?

Hi Andy,

As u said, if neon is 'real-time of brazil' then it should supports any features what brazil offers.

The facts: shadows, environment...etc. many setting from brazil has no influence on neon, when process the final rendering by brazil then we always get something different then what we see in neon.

of cause we could change some setting e.g. by 'ViewCaptureToFile' to obtains the better quality.

AS U SAID, THAT NEON IS REALTIME OF BRAZIL!!! But Neon is not in the sense of 'real-time renderer'.

I am meaning the real-time-renderer must correspondent with frame buffer modus.

Those third parties real-time renderer, such like KeyShot, Rhino-Live from random control...etc. they performance perfectly and we really get what we see!!

Most of the shadow settings are supported - and a lot of the environments as well.  I'm trying to prioritise new features for Neon - can I have specifics about what you are missing?

Neon frame buffer is coming - but I don't consider that to be a pre-requisite for the real time component.  If Neon were a true representation of what you get when you press the render button in Brazil, then there wouldn't be a problem, right?
